MMG Dugald River – Cinema in the Park

Written by Martin Brownlee     December 18 2020 at 1:56 PM

On the second Friday of December, MMG Dugald River hosted an outdoor cinema in Florence Clark Park.  Over 250 people attended the night with their picnic blankets, bean bags or chairs to enjoy two Christmas movies – The Polar Express and Last Christmas.

“It was great that MMG could put on a night of entertainment this Christmas which was enjoyed by family groups,” said Nick Johnson, Senior Community Advisor.

“Cloncurry Shire Council kept the water park going late, and movie goers got a taste of the real thing – fresh popcorn and soft drinks”.

Given the success of the night, MMG Dugald River will look to host future cinema in the park nights during 2021.  Helping to bring people together, is aligned with Dugald River’s commitment to adhering to the United Nations Sustainable Development goals, in particular goal 3 – Good Health and Well-being.  Good health and well-being one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations in 2015 promoting well-being for all at all ages focus on various aspects of healthy life and healthy lifestyle.
