  如何降低我们的环境足迹及自然资源的使用是MMG可持续发展承诺的核心。 水是宝贵的自然资源– 人类存活和健康生态系统的必需品， 也为一系列经济活动提供价值。对许多社区而言，水也具有很重大的文化价值。 采矿和提取矿物需要大量用水，高效运营依靠我们获得合适质量与数量水源的能力。在可能的情况下，我们尽可能改进用水效率、提高水循环使用。这样可以减少从附近集水区引入新水的需要。 我们致力于不断改善水管理，以获得环境、社会和生产的积极表现。我们认识到有关水风险和集水区层面的管理有持续改进的机会并不断加强我们与利益相关方的沟通与合作。 我们在每年的可持续发展报告中汇报我们的水投入、输出和分流量，与澳洲矿物协会的水会计框架相符。 持续监测 – 有时需要当地社区的直接参与 – 确保符合法规及持续改进。 我们所有员工都能获得干净饮用水及分性别的卫生设施。我们亦支持能为当地社区改进饮用水保障和卫生的社会项目。MMG资助刚果金的Kinsevere矿山周围村庄安装了40多个饮用水龙头，为社区提供干净饮用水。
