Las Bambas is committed to delivering a modern and sustainable health service for its mine employees and contractors. The operation’s Anta Wasi Medical Center continues to benefit from upgrades to the Emergency,  Observation and Laboratory areas.  Other improvements include:

  • New generation equipment for the Shock Trauma Room’s critical emergency care needs
  • A more comfortable and private recovery experience thanks to a renovated and warm observation room
  • A large and modern clinical laboratory featuring technology and equipment that captures results accurately and in less time.
  • A Centralised Temperature Monitoring and Control System that aligns with the mine’s need to maintain ongoing observation consistent with the mine’s COVID-19 controls

“The Las Bambas Anta Wasi Medical Center is one of the most modern facilities in the mining sector. Together with Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) management, from the outset the mine’s attention was trained on the delivery of modern medical resources with experts committed to bringing quality health services for the benefit of our employees. Today we are showcasing the mine’s ongoing improvements,” said Edgardo Orderique, General Manager of Operations at Las Bambas.

“Together we have worked to realise this achievement; I would like to thank each of the leaders and their teams. Everyone’s combined efforts have produced a strengthened Health Center,” said Lasma Siregar, Las Bambas SHE manager.

“Concern for our people’s health is paramount. We constantly identify opportunities for improvement. The Medical Center’s multidisciplinary team of health professionals is a critical and highly trained staff resource,” said Franco Silva, Superintendent of Health.

Plans are underway for a modern Digital Lighting Room and annual occupational medical examinations that will be carried out at Las Bambas in the future.
