Safety starts at school

Safety and caring for each other go hand in hand. We can all make a difference at home, work and in the wider neighbourhoods where we live. That’s why the Rosebery mine team reached out to local primary school children to hear and see their stories about things we can do better. It makes good sense. After all, children are the future of our communities and workforce.

Rosebery employees who visited the schools discussed with the school children what safety means and looks like for them.

The students then turned their creative minds to drawing and visualising safety activities. The Rosebery team was very impressed with the end result. In keeping with the mine’s 85th anniversary celebration that marks its close community connection, the artwork will be printed and published as books for each student to take home. Prizes will be awarded to the best safety examples drawn by students attending Rosebery District School and St Joseph’s.
