Since late 2018, MMG Las Bambas has been implementing a new improvement approach through Sprint Teams. The program aims to maximise the value of the operation’s existing assets through production and cost efficiencies.

Each Sprint Team brings together a team of diverse professionals from across the operation, who work together to develop new ideas to resolve key objectives for the business. By providing a creative space for the teams to develop new ideas, Las Bambas is increasing engagement of its own employees in finding solutions to challenges facing the operation.

Cost and production improvements identified and planned by the Sprint Teams to date, as well as the investment in our people, will help Las Bambas achieve its long-term vision to be the best copper mine in Peru, and a benchmark for mining globally.

Pursue continual improvement in social performance and contribute to the social, economic and institutional development of host countries and communities

- Engage at the earliest practical stage with all likely affected parties to discuss and respond to issues and conflicts concerning the management of social impacts.

- Ensure that appropriate systems are in place for continual interaction with affected parties; ensure that minorities and other marginalised groups have equitable and culturally appropriate means of engagement.

- Contribute to community development from exploration to closure in collaboration with host communities and their representatives.

- Encourage partnerships with governments and non-governmental organisations to ensure that programmes (such as community health, education, local business development) are well designed and effectively delivered.

- Enhance social and economic development by seeking opportunities to address poverty.

Este martes 9 de julio se realizó el primer taller de networking sobre diversidad e inclusión, liderado por Minera Las Bambas.

Este evento fue concebido con la finalidad de compartir buenas prácticas sobre diversidad e inclusión en la industria minera, así como retos y desafíos referentes al tema que sólo podremos abordar y atender de manera sostenible como industria.

Contamos con la participación de colegas de diversas empresas mineras, así como profesionales de otros rubros afines, quienes se mostraron motivados a seguir trabajando desde sus posiciones para construir espacios de trabajo seguros e inclusivos.
